From the 2013 Debs…

Deb Kerry is having a blast writing her new novella trilogy. Yes, it has dreams in it but not like BETWEEN. And there’s a hot guy, and a haunted house. Well, sort of.

Deb Susan’s CLAWS OF THE CAT received a starred review in Library Journal and was named Mystery Debut of the Month! Susan is thrilled, and in celebration, she’s giving away an ARC to a random commenter on this blog post at her blog between now and Monday!

Deb Amy is now the proud mom of not only a college senior but a college freshman. Deb Amy is old.

Deb Dish – What advice would you give new authors starting their first manuscripts?

Deb Amy: Write it out.  All your ideas you think are great, along with the ones you think are stupid. Use the wrong words, ramble, string together cliches. Just write it. You can’t publish a book you never write.

Deb Dana:

Deb Kelly: Write your book, not someone else’s.

Deb Kerry: Finish it. Even when you get to the middle and you think it totally sucks – just finish it. And then revise it. And then revise it again.

Deb Susan: Write the book that’s in your heart – and then fix it editing! (Really fix it…because it’s always broken the first time.)

Your Turn!! What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
