Never Can Say Goodbye

images-3I hate goodbyes. In college, my nickname was Up and Leave Oakley, because I would ghost out of a party before ghosting was even a thing (I’m so ahead of trends). I didn’t want to do the round of hugs and “call me” and “great seeing you!” mostly because I was just going to see all of my friends the next day on campus or in the dorm or at a different party. It just seemed a little silly to say goodbye.

And it seems a little silly to say goodbye here, too — even though it’s my last post for the Debutante Ball (WHAT?? Where did the time go??). Mainly because I’ll still be lurking in the shadows (not in the creepy, stalker way that that sounds), keeping tabs on next year’s class and cheering them on as they launch their book babies into the world.

What I do want to say in my last post is: THANK YOU. Thank you for following my journey as a newbie author. Thank you for supporting my book as it made its way out into the wide, wide world. Thank you for supporting me, as I also welcomed two surprise babies, and sometimes (OK, most of the time) couldn’t even put coherent thoughts down in a blog post. And a huge thank you to my fellow Debs who have been my seat mates on this very crazy rollercoaster ride.

And I really HOPE that this isn’t a goodbye. I hope all of you will come find me on FB or Twitter or just drop me an email to stay in touch. Let’s keep the party going.

Many hugs to all of you. (And great seeing you! Call me!)
