News from the 2017 Debs

Lynn K. Hall is thrilled her book launch week was so fantastic!! She wants to send a big, big thanks to the other debs for all of their kind words this week in their posts, posts which moved her to tears.

Jenni L. Walsh is popping out of her writing cave to say hello and to tell Lynn, Amy, and ’16 Deb Heather (see below), “Congratulations!” Now it’s back into her writing cave. Working on the sequel to BECOMING BONNIE has been so much fun.

Tiffany D. Jackson has been very busy promoting her book ALLEGEDLY! She saw Lynn at AWP2017 – another Deb reunion!

Crystal King is excited about her Goodreads Giveaway for FEAST OF SORROW that runs until February 28. Kirkus Reviews also said a few nice things about FEAST including “the food lore is fascinating and the time period is inherently dramatic,” and that the novel is “addictively readable.” Sweet.

Amy Poeppel can happily announce her new book deal: LIMELIGHT will be out in the summer of 2018 with Emily Bestler Books/Atria/Simon and Schuster! Amy could NOT be more pleased to be working on LIMELIGHT (and on the book that follows) with the same editor who published SMALL ADMISSIONS. Yay!!

News from past Debs

Heather Young (2016) is thrilled to announce that HarperCollins/William Morrow has bought her second novel, LOVELOCK! She will be working again with her fabulous editor, Kate Nintzel, and she couldn’t be happier. Congratulations, Heather!!

Author: Amy Poeppel

Amy Poeppel grew up in Dallas, Texas and left the south to attend Wellesley College. Since then, she has worked as an actor, a high school English teacher, and most recently as the Assistant Director of Admissions at a school in New York City. Her three fabulous boys are all off in Boston attending school, and she and her husband now split their time between New York and Frankfurt, Germany. A theatrical version of SMALL ADMISSIONS was workshopped at the Actors Studio Playwrights/Directors Unit. She later expanded it into her first novel.

  1. Lynn, I just wanted to thank you for your post on finding your agent. As the “I love this, but…” and the “You’re a fantastic writer, but…” responses trickle in and I start to feel pressured to change everything around based on what they want, it helps me to go back to your post. I’ll be checking out your memoir.
