A post for the Research Challenged

Before we get into this week’s topic, I just want to say I actually received my finished book in the mail this week, and I am so overjoyed I can barely breathe!  Its finally here, and everyone’s been so supportive.  Just wanted to say a heartfelt thanks to the special people who made this possible. My mini-book party was a blast!  Ok, onto the post.   xo  ~M Research requires patience…

Glazed, Powdered, or Jelly?

“Yeah, don’t quit your day job.” For years I had no idea what that meant.  Then I realized your “day job” is the activity that helps you pay for all the trouble you get into when you’re not at work.  It’s also the place where you spend the majority of your daylight hours.. hopelessly gazing out the window (if you’re lucky enough to have one) wishing you could run away…

A much-needed wake-up call….

For those who don’t know yet, I recently moved back to New York following a 3 year snow reprieve.  Upon my return, I started doing the morning show at a new radio station, and was immediately overwhelmed with the sudden demands from a thriving sales department, my new brutal schedule -with a 2am wake-up call- and the daily rigors of marriage and motherhood.  As you can imagine, I’ve been cranky…

Wishing you all the best Mrs. C …wherever you are!

Ok,  call  me  crazy,  but  as  I  read  all the entries from my fellow debs this week (love you all ladies!) I don’t seem to recall many fluffy oh-so-sweet encounters with the librarians who have come through my life.  I mean, don’t get me wrong, I fully appreciate the tough work they do (those paper-cuts must be quite painful) but the librarians I’ve dealt with in my 37 years of…

“Do I even HAVE a “good” side???”

“Man, they’ve definitely got a face for radio.” It’s a saying we constantly hear in the brutally honest world of broadcasting, and its one of the major reasons I went into radio.  I was looking forward to just being heard and never seen.  I couldn’t have been more mistaken.  The internet has ruined the delightful anonymity my broadcasting predecessors enjoyed.  It turns out people like seeing what their favorite on-air…

Swine Flu, Team Torture and other favorites…

Wow….my favorite online resources?   Let’s start with www.hotwheels.com That’s the website I visit most frequently these days in my eternal search for some valuable  personal time friggin peace and quiet.  It keeps my son busy and that’s all that matters.  As I review my lengthy list of online “favorites,” I also stumble upon www.xanax.com. I am reminded of some unpleasant visits to a few licensed professionals shrinks…but things start to get foggy,…

A Halloween tribute to my granny

In our house, we basically celebrate Halloween all the time.  My husband makes sure of this by delivering the same annoying joke for 12 straight years now, and it happens whenever I pick up a broom (which is at least once a week depending on my energy level and how many Starbucks lattes I’ve had). Anyhow, here’s how it goes down. I’m usually going about my business at home, chasing…

Book deals and Kanye West

Let’s see.. Its been a long time. My memory is quite fuzzy. If I recall, I had just gone on a massive drug bender with Ozzy Osbourne, destroyed a couple hotel rooms, got into a brawl with Kanye West -after he upstaged me at an awards show- (Beyonce was apalled) suffered multiple injuries in the incident, and was eventually left for dead on a dirt road just outside of Nevada…
