Interview with Jamie Questall, Author of BY A CHARM AND A CURSE

Today’s wonderful guest is Jamie Questall, author, graphic designer, all around badass human. We are so delighted to feature her on the blog today, and CANNOT WAIT TO GET OUR HANDS ON HER BOOK! It sounds absolutely amazing.

Jaime Questell is a writer and graphic designer from Houston, Texas. She has also been a bookseller, a professional knitter, a semi-professional baker, and an administrative assistant. None of these jobs involved wrangling corgis, which is quite sad. She lives in the ‘burbs with her husband, children, dogs and cat.

Find her on Twitter, Instagram, or on the web!

Emmaline King visits LeGrand’s Carnival expecting to have a good time. But with one kiss, she’s tricked into bearing the curse that holds the carnival together.  As she travels with the carnival she learns that her only options are passing the curse onto another innocent victim like herself or breaking it, dooming everyone who calls the carnival home–including the boy she’s falling for.

What’s your secret or not-so-secret superpower?

I am an amazing gift wrapper. Like, I will go up against Martha Stewart and give that woman a run for her money. And I love doing it. Whenever I’m almost done wrapping my gifts for the holidays I get a little sad.

If you were a drink, what would you be and why?

I’m basically made of coffee and chocolate and carbs, so if I were a drink, I think I’d be some cocktail of Khalua and Godiva liqueur served in a bread bowl. But if we’re talking real drinks, probably a Mexican Mule, because tequila plus ginger beer plus lime is a total win.

Share something that’s always guaranteed to make you laugh.

People in those inflatable T-Rex suits, ALWAYS. There’s just something about the weird proportions of a T-Rex paired with the goofy expression on the faces of those suits and it kills me.

Be sure to pre-order Jamie’s book, BY A CHARM AND A CURSE!

Kaitlyn Sage Patterson grew up with her nose in a book outside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. After completing her M.F.A., she moved to South Korea, where she taught English and started writing her debut novel. THE DIMINISHED will be published by HarlequinTEEN in April 2018, followed by its sequel in 2019.
