News Flash–April Showers Edition

News FlashCongratulations to Susan Peterson, winner of Emily Liebert’s SOME WOMEN!

Check back next week, where we will announce the winner of this weeks giveaway, Patricia Park’s RE JANE!

From the 2016 Debs:

Louise Miller is having a crazy week balancing wedding cake season at her job, blogging, getting ready for her talk at Muse and the Marketplace, working on book two, and working on THE CITY BAKER’S GUIDE launch, all the while trying to keep her apartment from imploding and her partner and friends from hating her–in other words, the normal life of a writer. But today is her birthday, so she will blow off everything and have fun!

Jennifer S. Brown  has only been eating matzah for two days, but has already had enough! She also spent a week with her computer in the shop and she’s been using a much older computer, which is making her buggy. She’s totally lost without her Scrivener.

Heather Young wrote her “Behind the Book” piece for her publisher, which it will use for some mysterious marketing purpose she can’t pretend to understand. This period three months before her launch is a weird, fallow time that freaks her out kind of a lot.

Abby Fabiaschi wishes Louise a very happy birthday! She celebrates not only Louise’s life but her AMAZING debut, which Abby had the honor of reading this week.

Aya de Leon has been researching Book 2 (THE BOSS) by consulting with women writers who have been strippers. T included reading upcoming guest author Antonia Crane’s powerful memoir SPENT, and talking to Gina Gold of TMI Storytelling, who was featured this week on NPR.

Author: Louise Miller

Louise Miller is the author of THE CITY BAKER'S GUIDE TO COUNTRY LIVING (Pamela Dorman Books/Viking/August 9, 2016), the story of a commitment-phobic pastry chef who discovers the meaning of belonging while competing in the cut-throat world of Vermont county fair baking contests.
