Latest News

Thank you so much to yesterday’s guest, Samira Ahmed, author of Love, Hate & Other Filters!

News from the 2018 Debs:

Cass Morris is hip-deep in copy edits and trying not to let them lead her into questioning everything about the way she uses language. As a respite (and to pick up a bit of gift-buying cash), she’s offering holiday Tarot readings for any interested parties!

Lara Lillibridge she was excited to find that New Now Next listed Girlish as one of their 8 Books to Fall in Love With This Autumn. She’s slightly embarrassed that she only found out this week, as opposed to in August when they published it. She has resolved to google herself more often than once a year.

Kimmery Martin, being Southern, was thrilled to see The Queen of Hearts mentioned in a Southern Living list of books they can’t wait to see released in 2018. Also: great news! The Queen of Hearts will be an audiobook…Kimmery received a chance to listen to potential narrators this week and got very excited at the thought of a voice actress reading her book aloud.

Julie Clark is furiously trying to finish a revision of her second book to get to her CP’s by next week. First pass pages are done and back with her publisher.

Kaitlyn Sage Patterson is in the happy lull of waiting for edits on Book Two and pass pages for THE DIMINISHED. She’s reading a lot of books about Appalachian folklore and magic for REASONS, and hoping y’all will keep your fingers crossed for her for DIFFERENT REASONS. Shhhhh. So many secrets.

See you next week when we talk about inspirational quotes that keep us writing!

Author: Julie Clark

Born and raised in Santa Monica, California, Julie Clark grew up reading books on the beach while everyone else surfed. After attending college at University of the Pacific, and a brief stint working in the athletic department at University of California, Berkeley, she returned home to Santa Monica to teach. She now lives there with her two young sons and a golden doodle with poor impulse control. Her debut, THE ONES WE CHOOSE, will be published by Gallery/Simon & Schuster in May 2018.
