From the 2015 Debs…

In case you missed it, the Debs were featured this week sharing their most influential books on Shelf Pleasure. What’s on your list?

Colleen Oakley is celebrating a fantastic review of BEFORE I GO this week in Publisher’s Weekly. Also, the Turkish rights to her book sold, making Turkey the fifth international country to publish the book next year. Yaşasın! (That’s “hooray” in Turkish. I think.)

Amy E. Reichert is trying to keep her acknowledgements shorter than her novel while waiting for her copy edits to come back. She just spent a long weekend in the Wisconsin Dells with her family, enjoying some quality waterslide time with her kids and husband!

Karma Brown is on pins and needles awaiting cover art for Come Away with Me, and has officially created a project document in Scrivener for her second book (coming from MIRA in 2016). With a December 1st deadline, she sees a lot of early morning writing sessions — and coffee — in her future…

Sona Charaipotra is diving headfirst into book two — the Tiny Pretty Things sequel — and it’s 60 pages and counting. Good thing, too, because the deadline is Nov. 1! Eeeps! She’s also got a few events lined up already for next year, including AWP and ALA. Time to book those tickets! Also, she’d like to congratulate her CAKE co-founder Dhonielle on the sale of her solo debut, the fantasy series The Belles!

Shelly King had two book events this week where she signed books and talked to readers about the things that inspired her to write The Moment of Everything. (Hint: things found in books, Silicon Valley geeks, bookstore cats, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, and hero booksellers) If you’d like a signed copy of The Moment of Everything, contact Bookshop Santa Cruz.
