I’m a planner.
A huge planner.
I like to plan and execute.
So things like New Year’s Resolutions are my jam!
Because I get to set goals. Then I get to plan around those goals.
I plan all things, down to the date and time, for every month.
This year… I don’t have a plan.
Because what I learned from last year, after all my planning, life tends to throw monkey wrenches at my head at 60mph every other day. So while I usually spend New Year’s Day plotting, planning, researching, and scheduling my goals while watching Twilight Zone Marathon…this year, I sat my ass on the couch, ate fried food, and relaxed.
Oh trust me, I do have goals:
I want to polish up Book #2
Write a proposal for Book #3
Pitch a series.
Finish a TV pilot script
But instead of stressing over how I’m going to do ALL of that, I made a resolution not to over plan this year. That I’m going to do my best to go with the flow. Maybe I’ll work on the series ahead of the book proposal. Maybe I’ll scrap the script. WHO KNOWS!
Because life comes at you fast. And there’s no stopping it. So you might as well try to be in the moment and enjoy the ride!
In the year that my biggest life goal is FINALLY coming true (i.e becoming a published author) I don’t want to miss a single moment being stressed over what I can’t control.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
You better not scrap that script 😉 I already want to hear all about it!
