News from the 2017 Debs

Crystal King went to the book launch party for Caroline Woods debut novel Fräulein M., “a work of historical fiction about the end of the Weimar Republic as seen through the eyes of women–both cis- and transgender–whose lives are irrevocably changed when Hitler comes to power.” She can’t wait to get reading!

She’s also been SO excited to see the positive buzz that her fellow Debutante, Amy, has been receiving for her novel Small Admissions! This week the Washington Post reviewed it saying “Both witty and wise, “Small Admissions” is a big-hearted, charming novel.” WOW! And they are right. It is a wonderful book and you are going to love reading it.

Jenni L. Walsh has successfully written the first chapter of a new book! The beginning is always the hardest for her so this was a fun milestone to hit! She’s also sending an early congratulations to Amy on the release of SMALL ADMISSIONS!!

Tiffany D. Jackson is screaming HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! And excited to pop bottles with Amy for the release on SMALL ADMISSIONS. Meanwhile, she is trying hard not to freak out about ALLEGEDLY coming out in ONE MONTH.

Lynn K. Hall received a final copy of CAGED EYES in the mail! She has a waist-high stack of old manuscripts in the corner of her office but now here it is, the ultimate version, even more final than galleys and advanced review copies…final, final, final! Crazy!

Amy Poeppel can’t even believe that SMALL ADMISSIONS will be available in bookstores this Tuesday, December 27th – What a long road and what a thrill!! Her first event, a signing at House of Books in Kent, CT will be Saturday January 7th at 2:00 – If you’re in the area, come drink wine with Amy and check out this wonderful bookstore! Update: SMALL ADMISSIONS has already been spotted in a Rhode Island bookstore!!

Author: Amy Poeppel

Amy Poeppel grew up in Dallas, Texas and left the south to attend Wellesley College. Since then, she has worked as an actor, a high school English teacher, and most recently as the Assistant Director of Admissions at a school in New York City. Her three fabulous boys are all off in Boston attending school, and she and her husband now split their time between New York and Frankfurt, Germany. A theatrical version of SMALL ADMISSIONS was workshopped at the Actors Studio Playwrights/Directors Unit. She later expanded it into her first novel.
