News Flash! April 22, 2007

Deb Friends! Friend of the site Gail Konop Baker has a new Bare-breasted Mama column up at Literary Mama.

Debs Are People Too! People magazine has reviewed Promise Not to Tell in this week’s issue! They gave Deb Jennifer’s debut 4 out of 4 stars, and had this to say: “McMahon’s gift is the deliciously twisty way she subverts all your expectations, keeping you guessing with wry wit and feverish chills.”

Debs in Review! Affaire de Coeur (who remembers their high school French?) reviewed Good Things and said, “Mia King’s debut novel is a fun read with great characters.” Love Romances and More called Good Things “an appealing story … great fun to read. Readers will be left with a smile for a triumphant woman who worked hard for her victory, and over a dozen tempting recipes to accompany the tale.” And LunaNina gave it 3 out of 4 hearts!

Amazon Amazing! Promise Not to Tell has broken the #100 barrier on amazon.com and was last seen hovering around #93! Congrats, Jennifer!

More Amazon! Good Things was ranked #8 today behind Amy Tan’s The Opposite of Fate for bestselling new releases in the Asian American category for Amazon Canada and #35 in the same category for Amazon overall (we don’t question the “why” – well, we did but no one had an answer so we just say horray to the sales ranking!).

  2. Wow, Jennifer, you must be black and blue from pinching yourself. Mia, good things keep happening for Good Things. I love that you took a chance by tossing away a lifestyle that wasn’t working for you and now you’ve made your dreams come true. And Kristy, your book store schedule for Catching Genius makes me dizzy. Did you ever think a second printing would come so quickly? I can’t wait for when the rest of you have your books published. What an amazing group of women.

  3. Jennifer, I’m SO excited for you–and not a bit surprised. Promise
    is a stunner.

And Mia: So happy that more lucky readers are hearing about Good Things.
Amy’s right. This is quite a group.
