News Flash – June 6

Deb Sarah is contributing an essay to the upcoming anthology I’m Not the Biggest Bitch in This Relationship!, which features essays by American humorists about their dogs. The anthology is being edited by author Wade Rouse and will be published in 2011 by NAL/Penguin. Part of the book’s proceeds will benefit The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), and contributors include Carol Leifer; Merrill Markoe; Jeff Marx (Tony-winning creator of Avenue Q); Alec Mapa; Bob Smith; and a plethora of New York Times bestselling authors, including Rita Mae Brown, Jill Conner Browne, Jen Lancaster, Bruce Cameron, Stephanie Klein, Beth Harbison and Laurie Notaro. Deb Sarah is not quite sure how she slipped into this illustrious group, but is thrilled to be a part of it – and, most of all, to be helping dogs! (P.S. That’s Bella from Lab Rescue in the photo to the left. She approves of the project).

Deb Joelle’s Restoring Harmony was included on the American Library Association’s Best Fiction For Young Adults Nominations list. They will vote at the midwinter ALA conference in January, but Deb Joelle is honoured to be on the long-list as there are some amazing writers on it too!

In other exciting news, Deb Joelle is featured over on The Romantic Times website in their debut spotlight! She’s written a piece for them and they’ve also got a review and an excerpt from Restoring Harmony.
