Newsflash: September 9, 2012

From the 2013 Debs…

Deb Kerry is looking forward to finally revealing her book cover, which she now has on her phone and inflicts regularly on random strangers. “Hey, you wanna see something cool?”

Deb Susan is speaking at the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers’ Colorado Gold Conference this weekend, and receiving an award from the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers’ organization in recognition of her novel’s sale to Thomas Dunne Books.

Deb Amy‘s essay, Being Hip, was published on HuffPost Divorce.

Past Deb News

Deb Joanne Levy’s SMALL MEDIUM AT LARGE received a great review from Project Muse, which praises Joanne’s “pitch-perfect tween narration” as  “an easy sell to pre-adolescents.” Way to go, Joanne!

Deb Linda Grimes’s IN A FIX is available NOW.  Check out the trailer too!

Deb Tawna Fenske is participating in the Crazy 8s Author Tour, and will be signing books and talking with readers at Betty’s Books in historic Baker City, Oregon on September 14. For more information, see Tawna’s website – she’s an author you don’t want to miss!

Deb Friends

Big thanks to Teresa Medeiros for joining us at the Ball yesterday.

Next week Erika Robuck, author of HEMINGWAY’S GIRL, will join us for a Debutante Interview – be sure to stop by and say hello!

Deb Dish – Tell us 5 things can you see (or reach) from your writing
desk!

Deb Amy: At my desk I’m always within an arm’s reach of a window, my Flip Dictionary (You don’t have one? You should!), a bucket of pens (and some actually work), colorful extra-sticky Post-It notes, and hopefully, chocolate.

Deb Dana: At least three recipes that I’ve left on my printer tray, a photo of me and my husband, my maroon Snuggie (yes, I have a Snuggie…don’t judge), stacks of notes for books #1 and #2, and a bunch of trees out my window, none of which I can identify (sycamore? maybe oak? no idea).

Deb Kelly:  Apples, no-roll crayons (genius!), a mom-made quilt, taffy wrappers, and season 2 of Community on DVD. Looks like I need more taffy.

Deb Kerry: Bastet (the Egyptian goddess), a couple of fairies, usually a cat, my favorite coffee mug, a pair of earbuds.

Deb Susan: A coffee cup (preferably full!), a tumbling-over pile of books, a CD player, an aquarium, and usually at least one cat.
