Seriously? “In the Kitchen?” That’s our theme this week?
Let me look again…
Yep, it’s for real. “In the Kitchen.”
Do the Debs not realize that if it weren’t for the fact that I have a kid, I’d never be In the Kitchen?
I mean, I do have my lunchbox collection there, including a sweet metal Knight Rider one, so I might stop in to gawk now and again, but that’s really it.
When I was single, forget it. I lived three years in my first apartment in L.A. and never turned on the oven once. Not once.
I have, however, written a cooking show. For the Muppets. The Muppets. The Muppets. It is quite possibly the coolest thing I have ever done, and I got to hang with some fascinating characters.
It’s astounding I wasn’t kicked off the set on a daily basis for squealing like a dolphin.
The show we did was called The Muppets Kitchen with Cat Cora, and while I can’t cook, Cat’s pretty darn good at it, so I’ll throw this post to her, Kermit, Piggie, Fozzie, and the rest of the Muppet gang. You can find the show here. Hope you like it!
xo,
Elise!!! I’m going to show this to my kids today and tell them I know the woman who wrote it. Thanks for making me cool by association. Love the muppets! xoxo
See, and every time I read work by you I feel like I’M the one who’s cool by association!
Thanks for checking it out!
Love Cat Cora, love the muppets and know of women in the city who used their ovens as shoe closets in their 20s! I’ll be sharing this show with my kids too. In the kitchen… hmmmmm. I love the kitchen – have you seen my website? It’s a kitchen!
I can’t wait for your In The Kitchen post — especially since I’m trying once again to be Gluten Free!
Elise, since cooking is simply another form of being creative, I think you’d make a 5 star chef….if you had the time! 😉
I do love watching the Food Network… does that count?
Ha! I totally identify with you. I lack the cooking gene. 😉
My husband laughs when I try to cook. My daughter, however, is completely brainwashed into thinking that overdone turkey burger patties, microwaved cauliflower, and Annie’s Mac’n’Cheese is a meal fit for a princess!
Too funny! I adore cooking, but have never been able to get into television…not watching it, talking about it, or having any notion how to turn mine on.
Tawna
I used to be OBSESSED with TV growing up. I know almost every episode of almost every sitcom from the 70’s and 80’s… and 60’s, from reruns… and I’ve seen all The Honeymooners — was that 50’s? And don’t even get me started on old game shows. I LOVE Tattletales and Match Game — the originals, of course.
I’ve pared back a lot, but Glee and Survivor are musts for me. Modern Family becoming a must as well.
I love the Muppets, but I am slightly concerned about your Knight Rider lunchbox.
As well you should be, to be honest. Would it help or hurt to know the Hoff is very close to the original animated Superfriends?
Sister, I am so with you. I think if the Debs ever get together, you and I can sit on the couch and watch Glee while Sarah, Kim, and Tawna cook for us. Hey, if it makes them happy…
And I LOVED the Cat Cora shout-out in Populazzi!
SYNERGY!!! I’m bringing everything I do together in one fell swoop! 🙂
