News from the Class of 2019 Debs:

K.A. Doore is diving into Book 3 edits for the month of February and glad to be daydreaming of warmer lands, especially after that -20F business earlier last week. I mean seriously, what was that??
Devi S. Laskar is creating literary cupcakes. Yep, you read right. If you’re in #NorCal, come to the book launch 7p. Tuesday (2/5) at Books Inc. in Mountain View, CA and find out what she means. (there may be literary samosas and literary wine, too) – and at 7p. Thursday (2/7) she will read from her novel and be in conversation with writer Anjali Enjeti at The Georgia Center for the Book (DeKalb Co. Public Library). Cupcakes may turn up wherever she goes. Thanks for the shout-outs this week Chicago Review of Books and Story Makers Show.
Layne Fargo survived the Polar Vortex of 2019 and is prepping for a weekend of intense Book 2 drafting while her partner is in Wisconsin hunting vampires.
Stephanie Jimenez is so happy it’s February… for no particular reason. She was supposed to have written 80k of her new novel by the end of January, but only made it to 70k, which means that by the end of this month, she will likely end up around 85k and that much closer to a finished first draft!
Martine Fournier Watson wrote an article about not writing. You can check it out at Women Writers, Women’s Books.

See you next week when we celebrate the release of Devi’s debut novel The Atlas of Reds and Blues!
