News Flash–Fireworks Edition

News FlashCongratulations to Brandi Megan Grannett, winner of Katherine Ozment’s GRACE WITHOUT GOD.

Check back next week, where we will announce the winner of this weeks giveaway, J. Ryan Stradal’s KITCHENS OF THE GREAT MIDWEST!

From the 2016 Debs:

Louise Miller has had a happy week. She booked her launch party venue, sent out invitations, and is currently trying to find a fiddler to play tunes during cocktails. She was thrilled to find out THE CITY BAKER’S GUIDE TO COUNTRY LIVING will be featured on the Indie Next List in August. And she got to hear a clip from the audiobook, which was totally delightful!

Jennifer S. Brown spent most of the week in New York. After a wonderful reading with Lynda Cohen Loigman at Turn of the Corkscrew in Rockville Centre, NY, (a fabulous bookstore–with wine!–if you’re in the area), she spent time with her whole family–parents and sister included. She’s feeling rejuvenated and ready to get back to the business of writing just after the holiday.

Heather Young sent out invitations to her launch party and ordered the Launch Cake. Now she’s in Cody, Wyoming, visiting family for the Fourth.

Abby Fabiaschi is making a final push on packing. The truck comes July 5th. Connecticut here we come!

Aya de Leon turned in her second novel, THE BOSS, in to her editor at Kensington this week. Now she’s deep in the Twitter outreach portion of her promotion campaign, and engaging in this and other frantic activity to numb (or channel) feelings of anxiety about being less than a month from launch.

Interesting things we found on the internet this week:

* In honor of Pride Week, we love this piece in Bustle: 25 Queer Authors You Should Be Reading
* This wonderful piece by Karma Brown last year on the Ball popped up again this week, and it could not have appeared at a better time for the three stressed-out Debs whose books are about to launch: How to Avoid Stressed-Out Author Syndrome: Be Present

* Aaaaand we promptly stressed ourselves out all over again when we read this: Everything You Didn’t Know About Book Sales But Were Afraid to Ask
