News Flash: Next books, contest winner, and a cover girl!

newsCongratulations to Gaylord Chambers, winner of THE MOMENT OF EVERYTHING, by guest author — and fellow Deb — Shelly King!

Check back next Sunday for the winner of the signed copy of EVERY TIME I THINK OF YOU, by this week’s guest author Tracey Garvis Graves …

From the 2015 Debs…

Colleen Oakley officially passed 10,000 words in her WIP, which is a miracle considering she spends most days with her head in a bucket (morning sickness with twins= no fun). Also, Brazilian rights sold for BEFORE I GO this week. Hurra! (Which means “Yippee!” in Portuguese, according to Google Translator).

Amy E. Reichert started reading her WIP to prepare for revising, and is optimistic that it might even be kind of good (don’t let that muddled sentence question her judgement). Pitch Wars is also entering its final weeks and she can’t wait to read her mentee’s revisions.

Karma Brown is realizing just how much book debuts are like weddings — everything moves slowly for a long time and then BOOM, everything happens all at once! And while she’s still head down trying to up her wordcount on book two, she’s remembering to take moments to celebrate the fun and excitement that comes along with being a debut author.

Sona Charaipotra is still cradling her Macbook Air, hurtling toward that Nov. 1 deadline. But happily, she and Dhonielle have hit the 40K mark, which means nearly halfway there! And a full 20 days to go. Whoohoo! Let’s do this!

Shelly King is back from Arizona where she packed up her parents and moved them into her house. She’s starting to suspect this theme may end up in a future book. She also did an amazing job of spraining her ankle jumping out of the back of the U-Haul so she now has no excuse not to work on the manuscript for Novel #2 as she’s supposed to park herself for a week and elevate that ankle. No Stanford football home game for Shelly this week (sad trombone sound). In other news, The Moment of Everything is now available at your local Costco!

From the past Debs…

Susan Gloss, a 2014 Deb and author of VINTAGE, can now add “cover girl” to her bio after doing a photo shoot for Brava Magazine! We think you look beautiful in all that vintage wear, Susan — way to go!

Author: Karma Brown

Karma Brown is the author of COME AWAY WITH ME (MIRA/Harlequin, September 2015), an emotional story of one woman’s discovery that life is still worth living, even if it’s not the life you planned.
