Former Deb Sarah Pekkanen has some amazing film rights news! Her newest book, The Wife Between Us, co-written with former editor Greer Hendricks, has been picked up by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners. The book releases from St. Martin’s Press January 9, 2018.

News from the 2018 Debs:

Lara Lillibridge did not vacuum this week, but she did make 6 doz. cookies, a banana costume, and learned how to face paint a nine-year-old. She also had the privilege of beta-reading/editing some amazing new work by five writers.

Kimmery Martin has suddenly become obsessed with bookish pictures on Instagram and Pinterest.

Julie Clark is hard at work on copyedits. Which are very unglamorous and time-consuming. Related: Copyediting is a thankless job.

Kaitlyn Sage Patterson is preparing to leave the Sirens Conference full of ideas and inspiration. She can’t wait to start working on book 2 of THE DIMINISHED duology!

Cass Morris is currently wrapping up the Sirens Conference and doesn’t want to leave. She may have to be physically pried away. She is full of ideas for blog posts and things to incorporate into Aven Cycle #2.

See you next week when we talk about fear.

Author: Julie Clark

Born and raised in Santa Monica, California, Julie Clark grew up reading books on the beach while everyone else surfed. After attending college at University of the Pacific, and a brief stint working in the athletic department at University of California, Berkeley, she returned home to Santa Monica to teach. She now lives there with her two young sons and a golden doodle with poor impulse control. Her debut, THE ONES WE CHOOSE, will be published by Gallery/Simon & Schuster in May 2018.
