The Joys of Summer Rest

I absolutely love summer and every that goes along with it, including my favorite activity: rest.
Nothing beats doing absolutely nothing while sitting by the pool, on a beach, or just chilling in the park. After the type of tumultuous debut year we’ve had, we deserve to take a breath and enjoy the sunshine.
Which technically means I haven’t done much writing.
And that’s ok.
When you become a debut, you are plagued with the feeling that you’re always supposed to be doing SOMETHING. Marketing, networking, writing, blogging, tweeting…work never stops!
The reality is you’ll be marketing your book for the rest of your life. So why rush it? Why not slow it all down and enjoy a sangria instead.
Since I’ve stopped down from writing, I’ve been able to really appreciate all the LOVE Allegedly has been receiving and noticed an uptick in readers (word of mouth can be kinda slow sometimes).
Of course, there’s a huge deadline cloud in the distance creeping in slow and I’m preparing myself for it by cherishing every moment of the present.
