News from the 2018 Debs:

Kimmery Martin just received word that she is keeping her original cover after months of speculation it would change. Whew!

Julie Clark is nearly finished with copy edits AND a first draft of her second book!

Kaitlyn Sage Patterson is slowly working her way through a draft of Book Two that she’d set aside in April. Her editor wants to see it by the end of this month! Fortunately, it’s NaNoWriMo, and there are plenty of other people to keep her company in the late nights and early mornings of words, words, and more words.

Cass Morris is busily drafting Book Two and using NaNoWriMo to get it done. A few days ago, she decided to free herself by throwing her outline out the window, and she couldn’t be happier about the decision. Also this week, she got bit by a duck and butted by a goat during a bit of agrotourism.

Lara Lillibridge is using NaNoWriMo to try her hand at fiction. She suspects it might not turn into anything for a very long time, but she’s having a lot of fun writing random bits of things and filing them into a folder.

See you next week when we share the author bios we wish we could write.

Author: Julie Clark

Born and raised in Santa Monica, California, Julie Clark grew up reading books on the beach while everyone else surfed. After attending college at University of the Pacific, and a brief stint working in the athletic department at University of California, Berkeley, she returned home to Santa Monica to teach. She now lives there with her two young sons and a golden doodle with poor impulse control. Her debut, THE ONES WE CHOOSE, will be published by Gallery/Simon & Schuster in May 2018.
